Hello fam , what's up!
This time I'm back with my personal blog. Reminiscing the Golden era of my life so far.
Yes it's on my School days. School days are the best period of one's life. My friend used to say that School days are Golden Days, you will not realize it now, but later for sure. She was right.
I did enjoy school days a lot. But now I miss it even more. Just wanted to walk down that memory lane and put everything out before I forget those halcyon days.
I did my playhome to 2nd std in Mandara Jnanadayini Primary school. It was the calmest period of life. Going to school, coming home, sleeping, watching TV, study before tests and wola...what a serene period it was😌🥰
I was a topper even there. I also got prizes in running race, frog race etc., I also gave Vote of thanks at the age of 5 😝 in UKG, when there were seniors upto 5th std in that school. It was such a big deal which I least realized. My parents were so proud.
Annual days are always my favorite. I just cherish those days even now. I magnanimously loved dancing . My teachers used to say I dance the dance of all sections combined 😂. So enthusiastic and passionate about dancing 😜.
I would always play the lead in dancing. Be it Jane in Tarzan dance, Mrs. Farmer friendly or if it's just a no theme dance , I would dance off everyone's dance. So crazy 🤪....
Then for 3rd std, I moved into The Educare School. It was because my sister moved into that school because rumours began that Mandara would become Kannada medium. But it didn't.
Ok now, when I went there, I had to give an entrance test. Wow at the age of 8. Cool I passed it with 99% as far as I remember the staff saying it.
Educare was a total different world. So many activities, so many subjects. Felt intimidated initially. 3rd std 1st sem , got 4th rank, felt sad, charged up. 1st rankers were given the beautiful Educare Blue certificate and 1000 rupees cash. My love was Educare Blue. And from then on it was only mine. That dedication and discipline in school days is another level.
There was a section called special questions in Exams of Educare for three marks to judge creativity and intelligence apart from books. Starting with coloring the pictures, to identifying them, some science facts, some GK, some math and RC's, some fiction, some story telling questions and so much more
My Kannada skills improved majorly here(mother tongue :Tamil). Serial watching did have its role too. I remember scoring low marks in Kannada for the first time in Educare, that was the last, no turning back. I learnt it, loved it rigoursly that eventually led to scoring 125/125 in 10th boards. Jayalakshmi mam. Kannada teacher has a role in it too. She used to give so many seminars, (which I loved by the way, as I loved story telling and would always bring in mythological stories in all contexts), teach Grammar in detail, and was strict with marks that I used as motivation to improve. I just love that phase of mine.
Coming to co curriculum, there was GK , Moral Science, Craft, Drawing etc., every year. Was getting bugged up that I have to do those extras as I was that only academic oriented student , my mom would encourage only academics, so yeah. But now I realize I have so much GK, moral values cuz of it. Thanks to Bhagya mam, our HM, who organized such a wonderful education system. I realize it's worth so much now. PT was another big no no, that too when we were not allowed to chat. I'm a big home bug, so sun heat was not exciting for me. My favorite was Friday Pooja period where we learnt so many devotional songs and Saturday English song/rhymes period.
I loved singing and dancing always. I remember a teacher quoting I would dance as much as 3 section people's dance😂 I even choreographed a few dances. The best dances were when I was Mrs. Farmer friendly , Jenny of Tarzan Movie in Mandara and in Educare where I was Krishna for some part of the song and my only Bollywood song in Educare, Jai Ho which was a symbol of victory as in another song with my classmates I was not made the lead as the class teacher thought only professional Bharatanatyam dancers can dance as Shiva and Parvati. Well, I don't agree, I had danced Bharatanatyam in the previous year and was praised. Everything for the good. I got to dance with seniors, full fledged Bollywood. Waa, felt like a star😂😜✨.P.S : I love to dance as the lead. No offence otherwise. That's how I like it.
Annual day was always fun. Rehearsing for dance in various genres: story telling dance, bollywood dance, Bharatanatyam, fusion, regional dance etc,., anchoring, and on the D day, being honoured with Educare Blue. Life felt so perfect. So relaxing yet energizing.
There was latent talent hunt every year. I won almost every year, most of them in 10th,more special as my mother presented the award to me. Competitions like elocution, rhymes, mono Acting, book balance cat walk, brisk walk, slow cycling, fancy dress, skipping to name a few that I won. I felt like a total all rounder. Winning at both academics and extra curriculars. Queen of the world you see🤣.
I loved my time in Educare. Everything. I miss it even more now. Even now people ask what school I come from after they hear my communication skills and see my personality.
I am a proud Educarean. Will always be. It gave me so much. I love Mandara too, that's where I had given my first vote of speech and also wore graduation day costume and hat. So blissful and halcyon days were those school days. Literally Golden era of my life. So grateful to God for giving such a wonderful life. Grateful to everyone who made it possible.
