Life at IIMB, so far...

Dreaming this Life to Living that dream.... IIM B , the place to be... truly.

Time of intense prep and anxiety amongst MBA aspirants. Lot of doubts crippling your way, I know it, have been there. With not getting A,B,C at first attempt to securing B and living the dream life here...it all feels magical...

A small bit of motivation, what does IIMB offer, other than the MBA degree and placements.

1) Home away from Home🫰 - We were welcomed into hostels with chocolates and a card that read 'Home away from Home'. I never doubted it toh, also note I am a first time hostler. I've always been pampered at the comfort of my home, and coming here, I felt it. 1 point of comfort was Bangalore wasn't new to me, my granny's house is here, so I always used to come here during summer holidays, Jayanagar 4th block chats and shopping centre being my fav(Bangalorians relate here.)The beautiful Nature, the cool breeze from the greenest campus, the pets, cats , dogs..or should I say paws and what not... I hated cats, now I tolerate them, sometimes find them cute. Was never a nature lover, here I just can't stop enjoying and praising, kudos to Bangalore weather, the sky, pure wonder. You ll forget all the tension, the stress just by strolling across the campus. Beauty, beauty...

2) Food🤌 - My mom was really worried how I'll accustom to outside food. I love only home food, bring me from top hotels, still I would prefer my mom's cooking (she's the best). The first meal at IIMB, I was sure I would have no problem here.. Had heard stories of bad food at IIMs , IIMB food is the best. I like it better than some  5 Star hotels as well. It's a full course meal, so many varieties of curries, rice, sweets, blend of all state's food, with special National integration dinner.. Mike drop, the best mess. Kannada food is the best served here, may be because they are used to it.

3) Seniors 🫶 PGP2s -

I would have to write pages to praise them. The best seniors ever, specially for our batch.

From welcoming with a surprise (I won't reveal this...TOP secret) , to hosting section parties and region wise parties, it was a grand welcome. The love and care didn't stop there. Providing timely study materials, guiding at each step, assigning Mitr to all juniors for mental, emotional and academic support, intense support during resume making,SIP prep. I can't stress how huge this SIP help is. I have had atleast 8-10 seniors review my resume, some twice and thrice, suggest changes and make sure I do it right. Same is for the entire batch. That support is immeasurable. Specially when you don't even know who you are giving so much time to help. This helped creating good bond with many seniors. (Akshay, Karthik, Sheshadri, Sriram, Romanch, Sreeram, Abhilash, Jappanjoth,Paritosh, Chanchal, Nistha, Imran, Deekshith , Prajwal, Anwesha, Sooraj, Deepika, Deepak,Mansi, Divya, Akhilesh, Abhinav, Dimple,Shravya to name just a few)..

Then SIP prep was quite rigorous, we had numerous sessions on case solving, mentors for each sector who took mocks, suggested tips and tricks to crack the interview. Forever indebted to this selfless service. It's beyond anything.

Beyond this, in Kannada group, seniors Karthik and Deekshith tut us for DS 1 and Karthik for DS2. Well non kannadigas also joined it. I can just say we could pass the subject because of these tuts. It's of that importance. Taking tuts for 4-5 hours straight after class is no joke, but it's our seniors, they do it, mere Gods🙏... (Can't guarantee this special tuts for your batch, but obviously you will have other seniors assigned by profs who take tuts to each section for particular subjects). The support system is the best here. In everything. Best campus in the world.Period.

Exaggeration? No, it's the Fact. Atleast for me. I feel blessed to be here.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank allllll the seniors of the campus for always backing us, guiding us, supporting us. Special thanks to my Kannada and Tamil (my mother tongue)seniors who are there for us at all point of time, hosts parties and have fun with us. Both formal (College clubs, committee seniors ) and informal(friends and regional groups) seniors are always there for us, and a huge thanks for this.

Having said this, let me also tell this, when I got to know that I am selected for IIM B, I was more anxious than happy. Why? I was selected for PGPBA, not PGP, the convention course. But for PGPBA, the trending analytics course, Business Analytics. I didn't prefer that course for various reasons, (also a computer science engineer who hated coding and wanted to get rid of it). But then I ask around, again to the seniors, some outside, some inside ones, I remember being anxious and texting those seniors for helping me make decision whether to join or not. (Shubham, Sarthak, Disha, Vishal) No one gave me fancy views. Clear cut picture of reality. I didn't want to let go of IIMB, so yeah I ultimately chose it, or should I say, IIMB chose me...

It was all worth it. The hardwork, the anxiety, the self doubt... everything. I would urge you all to keep your spirits heigh, work best and leave the rest. It's already destined, where you ll join, no one can take it away from you, so stop doubting yourself and get down to business.

Will be waiting to meet you all soon.
