Ola fam...
Its been long since I blogged on entertainment, so here I am. I have many north Indian friends asking for south movie recommendations, so this is for people like them, having said that, I have a list for good north, east, west Indian movies as well. Stay tuned!!
1. Milana - Kannada (Rom- Com)
This is one of the movies that Kannadigas still rewatch, 100+ times. Its a feel good movie, explores on how the arranged marriage couple rediscover love after being ditched by their first love. The kindness and gentleness of the hero steals the show, especially played by the world beloved Puneeth Rajkumar aka Appu, this is one of the best romcoms, evergreen...
2. Fida - Telugu (Rom- Com)
One of those pulling rom-coms that has constant twists, romantic tensions and a strange pull that keeps you hooked to all the scenes. With mind blowing actress like Sai Pallavi, her dance and stage presence is a special mention, she actually made me want to learn Telugu, such an impactful actress. Have watched it 20+ times. Feel good movie, shows how hero - heroine unite despite odds.
3. Dashavataram - Tamil (Sci-fi, rom-com, spiritual)
I had to rewatch this movie atleast twice and watch through some explanation videos to understand the intricacies and the connection. 10 characters played by Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Hassan, connects it to Dasha Avatara (10 incarnations) of MahaVishnu (Hindu God). Its beautiful how the story connects to 10 different plots and how beautifully a love story is carved amidst the chaos. Shows effects like Butterfly effect and how each scene is connected to the other, so is life. Must watch for those who are interested in sci-fi , spirituality as well as enjoy rom-com.
4. Athiran - Malayalam ( Psychological Thriller)
"Athiran" is a Malayalam psychological thriller set in a remote mental asylum in Kerala. It follows Dr. M.K. Nair (Fahadh Faasil), a psychiatrist, investigating the asylum and its mysterious patient, Nithya (Sai Pallavi), who has extraordinary abilities. I watched it for Sai Pallavi and the beautiful song Pavizha Mazha. Nice one time watch for those curious about psychology and thriller. I loved the climax though, how the characters are connected, let me not spoil it more for you ;)
5. Googly- Kannada (Rom- com)
People hype Yash for KGF, but these are the actual movies and the look of Yash Kannadigas love, its a fresh type of love story, includes the love that waits to be told, the male ego , over possessiveness and that tadap to get back the love after breakup. With wonderful background scores and comedy, its a movie we can keep on rewatching
6. Sita Ramam - Telugu (Romance and Action)
One of the best love stories mixed with patriotism. The Orphan hero Ram, whose a soldier filled with kindness and selflessness, the Queen heroine Noor Jahan from another religion, who on an encounter with the hero, falls for him and associates herself as Sita ( Based on Ram Sita historic pairing). Its wonderful how the hero keeps trying to win over the already won heroine and how she continues to love him till the end. A beautiful love story, so pure without any intimate scenes, makes us feel the true power of love to the core. I cry everytime I watch the movie.
